4x8 Basketweave Tile Pattern
This is the mid-scale member of the basketweave family: 4"x8" planks woven in over-under pairs with a 2"x2" cabochon dot in each corner. It is the exact same module as the large-format 12x24 basketweave with cabochons, scaled down by three — the weave, the ratio and the dots are identical, only the tile size changes.

- Thin-set adhesive: ≈ 1 bag (22.7 kg) — recommended trowel: 6mm notch
- Grout — the tile sets the joint width, not you:
- ≈ 1 bag (11.3 kg) — 3mm joint, rectified / tight-set tile
- ≈ 1 bag (11.3 kg) — 5mm joint, natural or non-rectified tile
It's the tile that decides the joint, not the setter — dry-lay a section to find your width. Assumes 9.5mm tile depth; adjust for your product.

About the 4x8 Basketweave
Because a basketweave is defined by proportion rather than size, the whole family scales freely. At 4x8 the pattern reads as a confident floor or a generously textured wall, sitting between the bold 12x24 version and the fine 2x4 mosaic weave.
The 2x2 cabochon keeps the same 1:4 dot-to-plank footprint as every other size in the family, so the corners stay crisp and the joints break the same way across the surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes make a 4x8 basketweave?
A 4x8 rectangular plank woven in pairs, with a small 2x2 square (cabochon) tucked into each corner. It is a scaled version of the 12x24 basketweave, and a scaled-up version of the classic 2x4 marble weave.
How much waste should I add for a basketweave floor?
Around 10% is a sensible starting point. Opuslay lays the module out tile by tile against your actual room, so the estimate reflects the real cuts at the walls rather than a flat percentage.
